What is Walking Football?

Walking Football is a slower version of the game we all love, played by members over the age of 50. No running or contact is allowed.

When do you play?

The sessions take place from 5pm to 6pm on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Where do you play?

In the summer season (April to September) we play at the

Market Drayton Community Amateur Sports Club

Betton Rd

Market Drayton

Shropshire

TF9 1HH

In the winter season (October to March) we play at the

Maurice Chandler Sports Centre

Warrant Rd

Stoke Heath

Tern Hill

Shropshire

TF9 2JP

How much does it cost?

We have an annual membership fee of £5, then it is £4 every time you play. We try and avoid cash and all members pay their subs into our bank account directly.

What do I need to wear?

Shirt, shorts and socks. Preferably shin pads for protection. A bib will be provided.

Indoor trainers for the winter season. Football boots (preferably rubber moulded) for the summer season.

Do you compete in any leagues or is it purely recreational?

Our Tuesday and Thursday sessions are recreational. However we also play in the Staffordshire League, which have monthly sessions on Sundays on the third Sunday of the month between April and October. Members can choose whether to make themselves available for competitive football or not.

We also play friendlies against other Walking Football Clubs.

Can someone under 50 join?

We try not to allow anyone under 50 to join, unless there are exceptional circumstances. We are a bunch of like-minded old men who still love to kick a ball about, sink the occasional pint and chew the fat socially.

Can women play?

We used to have female members but we found that they preferred to have their own club. Our 'sisters' can be found at Drayton Sports Club (summer) and The Grove School (winter).

How do I get in touch?

You can either fill in the form on our 'contact us' page or send us an email to info@draytondynamo.com.

We will get back to you as soon as possible.
